What is Giclée fine art printing?Giclée fine art printing is the gold standard when it comes to producing museum-level quality prints. But what exactly is Giclée and why is it superior print technology ? Giclée is a printing technique which involves spraying microscopic pigments onto high-quality paper to reproduce artwork for print or display. As Giclée printing uses pigment-based ink, rather than dyes, it creates vivid, fade-resistant colours with no difference than the original artwork. Giclée derived from a blend of French words: 'gicleur', which is a technical term for a nozzle or jet, and gicler, to spray out. The term Giclée — pronounced gee-klay — was initially coined by printmaker Jack Duganne in 1991, and today it is used to describe fine art printing. One of the main reasons Giclée technique is superior is the quality of the materials used in the printing process, the fine art paper along with archival ink-jet, ensuring the final product will be of the highest quality that will last for decades without fading or yellowing.

What is a limited edition art print?A limited edition art print, have been specifically created by the artist, and there are only a certain number of versions available. The print comes with a certificate of authenticity, a number on the print, and the original artist's signature to show their authenticity. A series will only run to a maximum number as specified next to each print e.g 100. Once all 100 are sold, there will be no further reproduction of that series. This creates uniqueness, and can help to retain or grow value in a piece of work for the buyer.
-
Are all the prints limited editions?Yes, all pieces of art are of a limited edition, and each run to a limited number of prints (specified in the shop items description). They also come with a Certificate of Authenticity which has the image of the art, name of the art, the edition number, production date, and certificate number.
-
Can I request a certain size of print? As the art work is of a limited edition, they are only sold in the sizes that are available in the shop. This helps to retain and grow value for the buyer. The sizes have be carefully considered to fit most walls and spaces, whilst retaining quality.
-
Do you sell prints including the frames? At this stage no. The reason for this is that frames come in many different varieties that suit a persons room or preference, and it is not practical to have those options available at this time. We recommend the buyer purchases a frame or uses a framing service to suit their requirements.
-
How are they packaged for shipping ?Each print is wrapped in protective paper, rolled, and placed into a cardboard tube for delivery. Please take care when opening as the Giclée printing method is very fragile, so it's best to only hold on the non-printed edges, or/and use cotton gloves to protect the print.
